About the Job
S.E. Smith & Sons is looking for a skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our team. If you’re ready to expand your expertise, work on a wide range of equipment, and never get stuck doing the same thing twice — this is the shop for you.

We take pride in solving tough mechanical challenges and supporting each other through every job. From trailers to forklifts, light-duty pickups to heavy-duty trucks, we work on just about everything — except tires and automatic transmissions.

What You’ll Do:

  • Handle trailer repairs, fabrication, and welding (if qualified).

What You Bring:
  • Experience in diesel repair and diagnostics.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and respect for deadlines.
  • Clear communication with coworkers and management.
  • ASE Certification and Class A license are a plus, but not required.

What We Offer:
  • Paid holidays, vacation, and sick time.
  • Kaiser health benefits.
  • Flexible time-off requests.
  • A supportive team that values growth, grit, and good humor.

About S.E. Smith and Sons
S.E. Smith & Sons is a trusted name in truck and trailer repair, proudly serving Southern California with hands-on service, clean operations, and a reputation built on loyalty and craftsmanship. From commercial fleets to individual drivers, we’re known for doing the job right—and treating people right.

Our Azusa-based shop is spacious, organized, and fully equipped to handle everything from DOT inspections to diesel diagnostics. Clients appreciate our consistent hours, responsive team, and the kind of mechanical precision that only comes from decades of experience.

That experience began in 1962, when Samuel Eugene Smith and his sons, Craig and Lance, turned their passion for fixing vehicles into a full-time business. What started in a home garage quickly grew by word of mouth, thanks to their quality work and neighborly spirit. Over time, the shop expanded into diesel, tractor, and trailer repair—earning fleet accounts and a loyal customer base.

Though Sam and Lance have passed, Craig continues to lead the business with the same hands-on approach and commitment to excellence that defined the Smith family from the start. Today, S.E. Smith & Sons remains a place where good work, good people, and good service come together.
